Avery Horatio Long, 60, transitioned on August 30, 2020 at Cone Health-Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was born on January 29th 1960 to Evonne Plaza and was raised by the late Bill & Florence Pinnix.

Avery enjoyed fishing and sports. He also enjoyed dancing and loved music. He was a hardworker, very kind, sweet and gentle yet strong. Avery was kind to everyone he met and he never met a stranger. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter: Sharda Long of the home, his mother: Evonne Plaza (John) of New York; two sisters: Anjelic Plaza and Monique Plaza both of New York; two grandchildren: Liliana long and Kingston Matthews and a host of relatives, family and friends.
