Stephen Lynn Browning

Ellen Woods emailed to let us all know of the sad death of Steve Browning after a battle with cancer. Stephen had lived in Charlotte.

Stephen "Smooch" Lynn Browning, age 46, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 18, 1960 in Alamance County, NC, he was the son of Delores Cox Browning of Burlington and the late Jerry Clifton Browning. He moved to Charlotte in 1990 and was employed by DACO Industrial Sales. He designed garage shelving layouts for many NASCAR teams and installed them. Steve attended Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. He will be remembered by the countless number of people who were touched by his compassionate and caring heart. He was admired for his honesty, integrity, kindness and fairness. Many friends sought him out for his sympathetic ear, helping hand, sound advice or simply a strong shoulder. He was a generous, unpretentious man who always put others first. He enjoyed golf and boating with friends, fishing and skiing. He loved to sing, entertain and make people laugh.
In addition to his mother, Steve is survived by his wife, Sherry Faulkenbury Browning of the home; brother, Kenneth Mark Browning and his wife, Andrea of Burlington, NC; step-daughter, Tracy S. Faulkenbury; step-grandchild, Miracle Faulkenbury of Charlotte, NC; and his loving dog, Ginger.
